For several weeks now, road workers have been deploying new equipment.
More modern and aesthetic, these items of furniture allow waste to be sorted.
These street litter bins are a change from what users of the Principality have known until now.
The old bins have been in the process of being replaced for a few weeks, which is why in some streets of Monaco, passers-by are having difficulty finding something to throw away their waste. The explanation for this little setback is simple, as explained by the government: "To install them, the road agents put up posts. In fact, when possible, it is preferable to install the street furniture on high ground in order to facilitate cleaning. All of this is also with the aim of offering "a better level of service".
The equipment, which has already been installed throughout the Rock, has two 50-litre bins and a bag dispenser for collecting dog waste. On the one hand, it will be possible to deposit the equivalent of what is thrown away in the yellow bin: plastic, paper or cardboard and metals. On the other hand, the waste put in the green bin, i.e. glass, can be collected. Single container bins for household waste will also be installed. They are equipped with an ashtray at the top.
