He’s staying with the Scuderia!

Two days before taking to the track on home soil, the 28-year-old Monegasque driver signed a new contract extension with Scuderia Ferrari on Wednesday, the duration of which has not been specified.

This announcement has put an end to speculation that he might be moving on in the short or medium term. On Wednesday, ahead of the 83rd Monaco Grand Prix, Ferrari quashed the rumours by officially announcing a new contract extension with Charles Leclerc.

Entitled “The story continues”, the team’s press release does not specify the duration of the agreement now binding the 28-year-old Monegasque driver to the Prancing Horse.

Having joined Maranello in 2016, the year he joined the Ferrari Driver Academy, the Principality’s ambassador succeeded Kimi Räikkönen alongside Sebastian Vettel from his second season in Formula 1, in 2019.
