Renovated in 2019 following five years of work, the hotel – which boasts 206 rooms and suites – was ranked 40th among the world’s best hotels by a panel of hoteliers, seasoned travellers and journalists.

Launched in 2023 by the British group William Reed – which also created the 50 Best Restaurants and 50 Best Bars rankings – the 50 Best Hotels list was unveiled on Tuesday 15 September at the Salles du Carrousel in Paris.

The Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo ranks 40th according to the voters, a panel of ‘800 independent figures, each selected for their expertise in the international hospitality sector’.

Impressed by the overall experience

Each voter must have stayed at the seven establishments they are rating within the last three years and provide proof of their stay. The methodology does not impose an objective assessment framework. Service, architecture, dining, comfort, upkeep… ultimately, it is the overall impression and the experience that dictate the choice.

Hotels cannot apply or pay to appear on this list.
