‘Gomorrah’ crowned Best Original Series, a documentary by Guy Lagache wins an award, Marc Lavoine and Miss France on the ‘blue’ carpet: the 65th Monte-Carlo Television Festival has come to an end!
The winners of the 65th Monte-Carlo Television Festival were announced on Tuesday evening during the closing ceremony and a final walk down the ‘blue’ carpet. Following the sweep of awards by the Israeli-Palestinian film “Fadia” (three prizes), the upcoming series to be broadcast on Canal+, “Gomorrah – The Origins”, was voted Best Original Series.
Whilst Kurt Russell received his Crystal Nymph for his lifetime achievement, the closing ceremony of the 65th Monte-Carlo Festival, on Tuesday 16 June 2026, was also an opportunity to reveal the winners of the 2026 edition.
One project stood out from the rest: the Israeli-Palestinian film *Fadia*, which won three awards: Best Film, Best Actress (Yara Jarrar) and the Special Jury Prize. It tells the moving story of a young girl, left for dead by her family, who is taken in by her neighbours and subsequently tries to find a new meaning in her life.
Due to be shown soon on Canal+, *Gomorrah: The Origins* was voted Best Original Series and looks back at the youth of Pietro Savastano, Gennaro’s father in the flagship series. Roberto Saviano continues to write the Italian series.
