Is Monaco moving towards a ban on social media for minors under the age of 15?

Following the debate launched by French parliamentarians across the border, members of Monaco’s National Council are calling on the executive to introduce legislation to address the threats that minors under the age of 15 may face on social media.

In France, the parliamentary process is underway in an attempt to secure a ban on social media for minors under the age of 15. In Monaco, the National Council has also taken up the issue. Members of the upper house have tabled a motion for a resolution (No. 36), which was debated on Tuesday 12 May in the chamber, to “protect minors under the age of 15 from the dangers of social media”.
