
State Visit to the Principality of Monaco by the President of the People's Republic of China - Sunday, March 24, 2019
TSH Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene will meet in Monaco on Sunday, March 24, in the late morning, HE Mr. XI Jinping, President of the People's Republic of China and Mrs. PENG Liyuan, First Lady.
After the capture of Weapons and the review of the troops in the Court of Honor of the Palace, the Princely Couple and the Presidential Couple will share a private moment in the Salon des Familles of the Prince's Palace. Then the Chinese President will officially sign the Register of Heads of State and will pose alongside the First Lady and Their Serene Highnesses for the official photo.
Subsequently, the two heads of state will participate in a bilateral meeting in the presence of Chinese and Monegasque delegations. Together they will address economic and environmental issues.
At the same time, Princess Charlene and Mrs. PENG Liyuan will attend a short recital in the Hall of the Guards by Chinese-Canadian violinist ZHANG ZHANG.
The Throne Room will be the location of the state luncheon offered by LL.AA.SS. the Prince and the Princess to HE Mr. XI Jinping and Mrs. PENG Liyuan and to the Chinese and Monegasque delegations. This 40-person lunch will be held in the presence of HRH Princess of Hanover and Princess Stephanie.
At the end, Their Serene Highnesses and Their Guests will visit the Blue Room where they will be welcomed by the dancers of the folk group "La Palladienne" and where students of the high school Albert I, who study Chinese, will interpret in Mandarin, a little play.
The Presidential Couple will then take leave of the Princely Couple.
This historic visit testifies to the strong ties of friendship that have united the People's Republic of China and the Principality since 1995, the date of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. This is the first state visit of a Chinese President to the Principality of Monaco.
