The Princely Couple visited the new Ida nursery in the Condamine district on Tuesday morning, adding 30 childcare places to Monaco’s facilities. Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene also met the young children who have been attending the nursery since September 2.
A Heartwarming Moment with Little Serena
Dressed in a red and white outfit, little Serena almost stole the spotlight from the Princely Couple during the official inauguration of the new Ida nursery.
The young girl welcomed Princess Charlene with a bouquet of flowers upon her arrival. Clearly charmed by Serena, the Princess took her into her arms, played with her, and began the tour of the new facility with the little girl by her side.
A New Facility Supporting Families in Monaco
This touching moment marked the beginning of the official inauguration of the municipal nursery, which has already been welcoming children since September 2.
The facility was subsequently blessed by Father Dominique Arz.
“This new facility is part of the municipality’s policy of supporting families,” explained Mayor Georges Marsan, highlighting one of the key responsibilities of Monaco’s municipal administration.
He also recalled the joint initiative undertaken by the Government and the municipality to continuously expand and improve early childhood care facilities in Monaco, with long-term planning extending to 2030.
30 Additional Childcare Places in the Heart of La Condamine
The Ida nursery takes its name from the former villa that once stood on the same site.
With the opening of this new facility, Monaco now has a total of 14 municipal childcare establishments.
The 30 additional places further strengthen the Principality’s childcare infrastructure and support families with young children.
As a result, Monaco’s municipal administration can now accommodate a total of 430 young children every day across its 14 childcare facilities.
